Ryzen 9 9000X3D: launch on March 12th?

Published:

AMD’s forthcoming Ryzen 9 9000X3D processors are now the talk of the town. From Chinese sources, we know that the launch is scheduled for March 12. In fact, they are appearing on Chinese online retailer jd.com. What’s more, the prices have been posted, along with their specifications… Which have been known for some time, after all.

Ryzen 9 9000X3D: launch on 12 March?

As a reminder, following the lacklustre launch of the Ryzen 9000X, AMD reacted swiftly with a ‘crash’ launch of its Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The aim was clearly to rectify the situation, as customers were expecting more.

In the meantime, there are still two other X3D models to come on the red side with the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and Ryzen 9 9900X3D. The aim here is to add 3D V-Cache memory to processors equipped with a total of 16 and 12 cores. Hyperthreading will still be available, while turbo frequencies are announced at 5.7 GHz and 5.5 GHz for the 9950X3D and 9900X3D respectively. The TDPs are also known, with values of 170 and 120W.

What we’re interested in is how our wallet will suffer. On this subject, we’re talking about bills of 5,599 yuan and 4,599 yuan for the 9950X3D and 9900X3D. After conversion and taking into account the different levels of VAT, that gives us around €773 and €635, quite a price difference between the two. It remains to be seen what the official price will be… And to what extent the shops will respect it. By the looks of things, that’s a serious question. It’s worth noting that the price of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is dropping, as it becomes increasingly available for less than €600.

Finally, as far as the launch date is concerned, as mentioned at the start of this article, the JD.com data sheets mention March 12. The tests should be available the day before.
