This gaming laptop would be a great first option for those interested in stepping into this space, coming in at really the lowest price for a 40-series option you can get. For reference, you can find gaming laptops for under $1000, however, they tend to have RTX 3050s or RTX 2050s, which are obviously less capable than this graphics card.
This laptop won’t be an absolute powerhouse, but it will be able to deliver 1080p gaming at high-settings, covering the basics well. It also has a good Ryzen 5 mobile CPU, plus ample RAM and storage too. On top of that, you’ve also got a high refresh rate, large screen, making it great for competitive gaming.
- Good entry point GPU: The RTX 4050 is a solid option for 1080p gaming, and the most affordable in the 40-series mobile lineup.
- Punchy CPU: The Ryzen 5 8645HS boasts 6 cores, 12 threads, a boost clock of up to 5 GHz, 16MB L3 cache, and a very low TDP of 45W. All in all, it’s actually quite an impressive processor, and more than enough to handle 1080p gaming and multi-tasking.
